Really well stocked grocery store and liquor store, for a island this small.
Great to have the new IGAhavent been to the island for a few years so we were pleasantly surprised. Loved the selection of fresh food. We bought fruit veggies and for a supper the fresh barramundi and oysters on the half shell. With olive oil, butter and lemon the fish was delicious. The oysters went great with our chilled white wine. Highly recommend if you want to cook up your own meal to enjoy a relaxed evening in.
This IGA is a nice welcome to the island. Fresh produce at normal IGA prices. No complaints from me.
So, you wouldn't think that an IGA would be fully stocked and reasonably priced on Hamilton Island, but how 'bout that. Add in the local charm and great attitude that you have from living on a tropical island, in the staff, and presto, an amazing shopping experience. I know I rave about these things (supermarkets), but I'm a dad, this is my thing...
